Believe it or not, I have fandom interests beyond HP. For instance, I love Spider-man: The Animated Series (and if anyone can point me in the direction of Peter/Felicia fic, I would be a very happy fan). The fandom, as might be expected for a 90s cartoon, is about the size of a flea. So, I was wondering what small fandoms you love and wish were bigger?

Oh, let's go all the way and say sub-atomic particle :) I have an absolute genius for liking the less popular pairings (or at least hating the most popular) in any given fandom. Harry/Luna dried up just as I started writing. Cedric/Luna. Peter/Felicia...well, see original post. Mitsuru/Minato in Persona. Add in my proclivity for writing gen, and it's a wonder I get read.

yeah, I have to say that I never understood why others tend to write the main pairings in stories. I really liked Ron/Hermione when I first got into Hary Potter, but then I quickly got bored with it. I suppose because its a pairing that's done a lot in fanfic as well. Its not that I disagree with it I just don't see what else you could do with the couple.

That's not to say I've never read a good Ron/Hermione piece of fic, but I just don't understand why there's so much focus on them when there are so many other interesting characters and couple possibilities within Harry Potter and other fandoms as well.

For me, it's usually a case of not liking a canon couple in the fist place. R/Hr struck me as two people whose main things in common were fighting and Harry. Not a good basis for a relationship.

Within my own fics, I'm pretty shipping-agnostic. I go with what works best with the story I want to tell. Sometimes that means including a ship I don't like. If I need Harry and his wife to show up in one scene, the wife's going to be Ginny because I don't have time to establish a new relationship.
