I just got the first two volumes of Runaways and vol. 2 and 3 of Ultmate Spider-Man. They are every bit as awesome as I was led to believe. I'll be picking up the first Iron Man trade as soon as I can (flipped through it a comics shop and liked it). Would like to get into Captain America as well, as soon as I can figure out an entry point. I think I might have some new fandoms. My love for HP has been suffocated by the ever-increasing whining-to-goodfic ratio. My exchange fics will be posted, and there's one or two Cedric/Luna stories in me, but mostly I feel like I've done all I want to do with HP. It's been a fun ride.

I've got the first six issues of Ed Brubaker's run on Captain America and I enjoyed it. I get the feeling though, that Mr. Brubaker is writing this more like a novel with the intrigue and suspense building as the comic moves on.

That's what I keep hearing. As someone who can neither afford nor lift the omnibus, it's a little intimidating. I've decided to start with The Death of Captain America. What's the name of the trade with the first six issues, btw?

Oh, yeah I wouldn't touch the omnibus. The first six issue trade is called Winter Soldier Vol. 1. A lot of seed planting is done in these six issues. There's the reintroduction of several key characters in these six issues as well as some really crazy plot elements. Hard to believe it's the same guy who writes Daredevil. Both are good, but Daredevil's a different genre.

Thanks. I'll pick up a copy. I know who the Winter Soldier is, but it should be a good read.
