I like your Cedric... he's kind, and in character. I loved the chess scene, and I also like that you ended the story two weeks before the third task... the "oh, no, I know what's coming" is certainly there, but it doesn't overpower the story. Which is perfect, because this story is about the friendship-turning-to-something-more between Cedric and Luna, and that's exactly where your focus stays.
